Matti Haapoja is a Canadian YouTuber and filmmaker. HIs channel, originally 'Travel Feels', now simply named after himself, teachers other aspiring filmmakers about the filmmaking process. He is often seen traveling to far-flung beautiful locations around the globe. This theme is something I wanted to highlight when, in 2019, he announced a contest to design a logo for his brand. While my entry was not selected, it was an excellent design exercise and yielded a logo I am still proud to show off. The minimal mark is based on a compass, alluding to his penchant for travel, and includes his initials; M and H. The M is central to the design with the H nestled into the negative space, taking advantage of the limited area inside the circle and keeping the elements minimal and tidy.
